If we use the sheet vertically ie., from top to bottom.
Then, No. of sheet of 4m wide is,
12/4 = 3 Nos.
& 8/4 = 2 Nos.
Therefore, 3×2 + 2×2 = 10 Nos.
We will require 10 Nos of sheet of 6m length (since the height is 6m) for covering the sides of the tank.
Therefore, 6×10 = 60 m.
Now for the bottom part,
12×2 = 24 m.
Therefore, total length of the sheet = 60+24
= 84 m
& the total cost = 84×17.5 = ₹1470/-
Hence, the cost of the iron sheet is ₹1470/-
