1. A train, 150 m long, passes a railway platform of 200 m long in 35 seconds. Find :- i) the speed of the train in km/hr. ii) the time taken by the train to pass a stationary man . iii) the time taken by the train to pass a man cycling in the direction of train at the rate of 9 km/hr​

Let the speed of the train be x kmph and length of train = L Km.

∴ L = 18x. Also, cycle is in opposite direction. ∴ Relative speed = x + 5

. So 18/(60x60) = L/x+5 →x+5 → 200L = 180L + 5 ∴ L=1/4km
