Answer:

Let's assume he has 200 Rupees( since it's divisible by both 50 and 40). So an orange cost 4 rupees and mango cost 5.

He kept 10 % for taxi that is 20 rupees

So he has 180 rupees left.

20 mangoes cost 100 Rupees(20*5)

He has 80 rupees left which can get him 20 oranges(80/4).

Answer:

ans 20

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that A person buys 50 oranges or 40 mangoes.

Let the price of one orange be x.

Then the total amount the person has 50x.

if 40 mangoes cost 50x.

Then 1 mango = 50x/40

                        = 1.25x.

Given that 10% of the amount for taxi = 10% of 50x

                                                              = 10/100 * 50x

                                                              = 5x.

Given that he buys 20 mangoes.

From (1) If the cost of 1 mango = 1.25x.

Then the cost of 20 mangoes = 20 * 1.25x

                                                  = 25x.

Money left with the person = Total Money - Cost of Mangoes

                                             = 50x - 5x - 25x

                                             = 20x.

if one orange cost x.

Then 20 oranges cost 20x.

Therefore the number of oranges he can purchase = 20.

hope it helps....
