Question :-

We have to check that these numbers are in proportion or not ?

Solution 1 :-

32 , 40, 48 and 60 are in proportion,

Therefore,

32: 40 = 48 :60

By cross multiply,

32 * 60 = 48 * 40

1920 = 1920

LHS = RHS

Hence, It is true that the given numbers are in proportion.

Solution 2 :-

12 , 15 , 18 and 20

Therefore,

12 : 15 = 18 : 20

By cross multiply

12 * 20 = 18 * 15

240 = 270

LHS ≠ RHS

Hence, It is false that the given numbers are in proportion .
