1. By selling a radio for 950. a man loses 5%. What per cent shall he gain by selling it for

let the CP be x

then the sp is 95x/100 × 100 = 950

hence x is 1000

so the profit percent is 4%

Let the cost price be X

The selling price would be X-5% OF X=Rs 950

Therefore 95x/100=950

Therefore X=Rs 1000

By selling the tape recorder at 1040 the profit would be

Rs 1040- Rs 1000= Rs 40

The percentage gain would be 40/1000*100= 4%
