Step-by-step explanation:

(i) S.P. = Rs . 18

M.P. = Rs. 20

Discount = S.P. - M.P.

But S.P. is less than Marked price there will be loss .

Loss = 20 - 18 = 2

Loss = M.P. - S.P. / C.P. × 100%

20 - 18 / 20 × 100

2/20 × 100

10 %

(ii) S.P. = Rs 1275

M.P. = Rs 1500

Discount = M.P. - S.P.

But S.P. is less than M.P. , so there will be loss .

Loss = 1500 - 1275 = 225

Loss = M.P. - S.P. / C.P. × 100%

= 225/1500 × 100

= 15 %

I hope you understand ....

ANSWER:

1. Discount = Rs. 2

Discount percentage = 2%

2. Discount = Rs. 225

Discount percentage = %

STEP BY STEP EXPLANATION:

1. Discount = Marked price - Selling price

= 20 - 18

= Rs. 2

Discount percentage = (Discount/Marked Price) × 100

100 \times \frac{2}{20}

100 \times \frac{1}{10}

 >  > 10\%

2. 1. Discount = Marked price - Selling price

= 1500-1275

= Rs. 225

Discount percentage = (Discount/Marked Price) × 100

100 \times \frac{225}{1500}

100 \times \frac{3}{20}

 \frac{30}{2}

 >  > 15\%
