1. Can an object be at rest as well as in motion

just take an example that we are on earth and our surrounding things like road buildings etc. are at rest for us. But for an astronout these are at motion because earth is rotating on its axis as well as revolving around the sun in orbit. what did you say about that!!

it totally depends upon the reference frames by which you are observing the object. For example if I am sitting on a chair since last 5 minutes and I ask you weather I am in motion or rest then your answer would probably be that I'm at rest. But at the same time if someone is observing me from other planet, he would observe me as moving as I'm present on Earth and Earth is rotating continuously. Similarly if someone sees me from an another universe he/she would see me travelling even faster than light as our known universe travelles with a speed of that of more than light.
