As half angle formula is:

Sin (x/2)= √ { (1-Cos x ) /2 }

by solving this for 1- Cos x you will get,

1-Cos x = 2 { Sin (x/2) }^2

Hence:

1-Cos x = 2 { Sin (x/2) }^2 ………..(1)

here in (1) you can put any value of x to get the value of 1-Cos x

so the domain is real number.

As the Range of Sin x is [-1,1 ]

but Sin function in (1) is square so answer always be positive or can be zero but never will be negative.

So the value of 1-Cos x will be lie between 0 to 2 including end points, in mathematical form you can right it as below:
