(1 + cotA - cosecA)(1 + tanA + secA) = 2

________ [ GIVEN ]

• We have to prove that L.H.S. = R.H.S.

→ (1 + cotA - cosecA)(1 + tanA + secA) = 2

Take L.H.S.

→ (1 + cotA - cosecA)(1 + tanA + secA)

We know that

cotA = cosA/sinA

cosecA = 1/sinA

tanA = sinA/cosA

secA = 1/cosA

→ (1 + cosA/sinA - 1/sinA) (1 + sinA/cosA + 1/cosA)

→ [(sinA + cosA - 1)/sinA] [(cosA + sinA + 1)/cosA]

Now.. (a - b) (a + b) = (a² - b²)

→ [{(sinA + cosA)² - (1)²}/sinA cosA]

Now..

(a + b)² = a² + b² + 2ab

→ [(sin²A + cos²A + 2sinA cosA - 1)/sinA cosA]

We know that

sin²A + cos²A = 1

So,

→ (1 + 2sinA cosA - 1)/sinA cosA

→ (2sin A cosA)/sin A cosA

→ 2

L.H.S. = R.H.S.

Answer:

Prove that ( 1+ cota-coseca) ( 1+ tana -seca) =2. 2 ... ((sina+cosa)raise to power2 - ( 1)raise to power 2)/sinacosa ... (1+tanA+secA)= 2
