Answer:

The combustible substances are those substances those easily catches fire in the presence of oxygen and the substances which do not burn in the presence of oxygen they are non -combustible substances for example :-fossil fuels ,wood ,paper

Explanation:

ignition temperature -it is a temperature on which a substance started to burn in the presence of oxygen ..... and sodium catches fire when exposed because it's ignity is so high so it catches fire when exposed to air. ..... hope it will help you. ❤️ I purple you

1) Combustible substance : Any substance that has high potential to catch fire or combustion is called combustible substance . For example : Paper , wood , Gases like LPG , CNG , etc .

Non - combustible substance : Any substance that doesn't catch fire or is not capable of combustion is called non - combustible substance . For example : Stone , sand , water , etc .

2) The lowest temperature at which a substance catches fire when heated in air is called ignition temperature . For example : Kerosene has lower ignition temperature than Diesel . This means kerosene catches fire at lower temperature .

3) Sodium is a highly reactive metal placed at the second spot on reactivity series . It is never found in pure state . Sodium is so reactive that it reacts with oxygen and water to form its oxide and hydroxide respectively . This reaction is so vigorous that sodium catches fire .
