An Olfactory indicator is a substance whose smell varies depending on whether it is mixed with an acidic or basic solution. Olfactory indicatorscan be used in the laboratory to test whether a solution is a base or an acid, a process called olfactory titration. Onion , clove oil and vanilla extract are examples.

1.Olfactory indicator are those indicators which helps us in determining whether a substance is acidic or basic by changing its smell.
For example:
When when acid react with onion extract then onion doesn't loss its cheristristic smell but when onion extract react with base then it loss its cheristristic smell..
