Answer:

1.  Carbon sink is a natural reservoir that stores and absorbs carbon from the atmosphere.

2. This can be explained using the carbon cycle which refers to the constant movement of carbon from the atmosphere to the organisms and then again into the atmosphere.

A COMMON EXAMPLE WOULD BE : Forests absorb carbon from the atmosphere , thus , designated as carbon sinks. However , when the trees in the  forest dies out and decomposes, it releases the carbon back in the atmosphere , thus , becoming carbon sources.

3. The changing of carbon sinks to carbon sources negatively affects the atmosphere by disrupting the carbon cycle. Its natural rate of carbon absorption is outpaced by the emissions of carbondioxide into the atmosphere due to human activities.

4. Photosynthesis is a process through which plants capture maximum sunlight and absorb carbondioxide from the atmosphere to manufacture food for the plant ; so, the  absorption of carbondioxide is done. Thus ,the carbondioxide from the atmosphere is absorbed and stored , and getting the term '' carbon storing process''.
