1 On the occasion of Van Mahotsav on July 8, a fruit bearing tree plantation drive was held on the campus of Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Valpoi, in association with the Goa Naval Unit NCC troops of the school. Over 150 schoolchildren planted chickoo, mango, pomegranate, lemon and jackfruit saplings at the event. 


“All the teachers and students will take care of these plants,” said Anant Sawal, taluka sports organizer, from the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affair. 


They also discussed the ill effects of plastic and how to make Valpoi a plastic-free city in the future.
