Answer:

Centripetal means radially inward towards the center of the curved path. In circular motion centripetal force is responsible for keeping a body in a circular path.

Centrifugal means radially outwards and away from the center of the curved path. In circular motion it the fictitious outward force experienced by body in circular path is called centrifugal force. The magnitude of this force is always equal to the centripetal force of the body and is always directed opposite to the centripetal force. For example, the centrifugal force experienced by the mass of the earth due to earth’s rotation about its own axis results in the bulky shape at the equator.
