1) Yes plastics are always bad for our environment because they can check water flow in the ground if they are buried, when burned they produce a lot of toxic gases, when thrown in water they create sea water pollution by producing harmful chemicals.

2.) Advantages of plastics are that it is durable, water resistant, low cost and they require less time and energy for manufacturing.

Plastics may help us to protect forest if paper packaging is replaced by plastic packaging. Thus less paper use will cause less tree cutting and so it may help in protecting forest.

3) The difference between biodegradable and non biodegradable  plastics is that over a period of time biodegradable plastics will decompose but non biodegradable plastics will not. Biodegradable plastics are made from natural materials such as corn starch.

4) Non biodegradable plastics are the plastics which does not decompose over time. They create air pollution if burned. If buried they check the water flow into ground. e.g grocery bags, water bottles etc.

5) Plastic usage can be reduced by spreading awareness among people regarding its dangerous side effects. Plastic ban from government and replacing plastic by paper or biodegradable materials will also reduce plastic usage.

Answer:

Explanation:

1.Yes, plastics are always terrible for the environment because they block water flow if they are buried, they release a lot of hazardous gases when burned, and they pollute marine water when they are dumped into it.

2. Advantages of plastic and how plastics help us to protect forest:

The ecology can benefit from plastic in a wide range of ways. Although it is well known that plastic can be recycled and reshaped using plastic moulding techniques, there are numerous other ways in which plastic is more environmentally friendly than conventional materials like paper or wood.

Paper's Environmental Impact Is Greater Than That of Plastic

The production of paper products uses a great deal of resources. In addition to requiring a significant number of trees to be cut down, creating paper also uses a significant amount of energy and water.

Numerous Forms Can Be Created from Recycled Plastic

The enormous range of shapes that plastic can take after recycling is a significant benefit. Plastic bottles from today can be recycled and used as the feedstock for a plastic moulding machine in the future.

Plastic Outperforms Other Materials in Efficiency

It takes less plastic to complete any given work since plastic is stronger and lighter than many other materials. Because less material is required for a given purpose, this lessens the environmental effect of plastic parts.

Materials Made of Plastic Can Be Made Into Fuel

Plastic can be turned into fuel in addition to being recycled into other things. This not only recycles the plastic but also lessens the need for fossil fuel extraction from the earth.

Plastic has a long lifespan.

Plastic may be easily compressed into a small package, enhancing the country's fuel efficiency.

3. Difference between biodegradable and non-biodegradable plastics:

Plastics that can be broken down by microbes are said to be biodegradable. Technically, all plastics fall under this category, however there is little empirical data to back this claim. Instead, we refer to plastics that will degrade in the course of our lifetimes by bacteria as having a high biodegradability.

Plastics that have been combined with an additive to induce them to fragment in the environment are known as oxo-degradable plastics, which are different from biodegradable plastics (with oxygen). Because bacteria are not involved in the process, these plastics are only "degradable," not "biodegradable."

Plastics that are non-biodegradable do not decompose over our lifetimes.

4.Non - biodegradable plastics:

Non-biodegradable polymers are those that do not degrade naturally and safely for the environment over time through biological processes. Due of plastic's affordability, adaptability, and durability, the majority of plastics are not biodegradable.

5.Reduce the usage of plastic and polymers in your surrounding:

Bring your own cloth bags to the supermarket (or any store!) when you go shopping.

Avoid purchasing beverages in plastic bottles. Fantastic glass.

Bring your own reusable beverage container made of steel or ceramic. Use a glass Mason jar if they're too expensive! Cheap but heavy.

Don't order hot beverages or coffee to go. Your drink's lid and cup will endure for more than a century! Plastic makes up the lids and liner. Ask for a ceramic, reusable cup or bring your own.

Purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at the farmer's market (not packaged in plastic).

Avoid purchasing convenience foods in plastic packaging.

Produce your own bread.

Purchase bread from bakeries that use paper packaging.
