% Oxygen = 16.5/35.6 = 46.3%

% metal will be 100-46.3 = 54.7

in 35.6 g of metal oxide, mass of metal is 16.5 g, thus mass oxygen is 35.6 -- 16.5 = 19.1.    now the %age oxygen is 19.1/35.6*100=53.6% and %age of metal is 100--53.6=46.4
