The male reproductive system in humans consists of the following reproductive organs.
- Testes
- Sperm ducts
- Urethra
- Penis
- Testes: Males have two testes, which produce sperms. Testes are present outside the body to keep their temperature 2-3 degrees celcius below the body temperature, which is essential for the production of sperms. Each testis produces millions of sperms called the male gametes which are carried by sperm ducts.
- Sperm Ducts: There are two sperm ducts, one from each testis. They carry the sperms from testis Epididymis to inside the body and open into a common tube called Urethra.
- Urethra: Urethra is a common tube that receives sperms from sperm ducts. It carries the sperms to an organ called penis that opens outside. Urethra is also joined to another tube coming from the urinary bladder. Urethra receives the sperms as well as urine from the urinary bladder.
- Penis: Penis is an organ that has urethra passing through it and opens outside through a small pore. It is an organ that passes the sperms from a male body into a female body.
