while doing LCM through prime factorisation, we should do only through prime factors.

Prime factors are prime numbers which are having only two factors - 1 and the number itself.

For example - 2, 3, 5, 7 and 11 etc.

Finding LCM of 16, 28 and 40 through Prime Factorisation -

16 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2

28 = 2 x 2 x 7

40 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 5

LCM of 16, 28 and 40 -

= 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 5 x 7 = 560.
