${x}^{3} - {2x}^{2} - x + 2$

${x}^{2} (x - 2) - 1(x - 2)$

$(x - 2)( {x}^{2} - 1)$

Now

$(x - 2) = 0$

$( {x}^{2} - 1) = 0$

or

$x = 2$

&

${x}^{2} = 1$

$x = \sqrt{1}$

$x = + 1$

$x = - 1$

Hence, the roots of the given cubic polynomial are 2 , +1 , -1 .
