1. From a jeep moving at 60 km/h a bullet is fired at a car in front speeding at 180 km/h in the same
direction. The muzzle velocity of the bullet is 300 km/h. What is the speed at which the bullet hits
the car? If the car was speeding in the direction opposite to the jeep, with what speed would the
bullet hit the target?

Answer:

given :-

speed of jeep = 60 km / hr

speed of bullet wrt jeep = 300 km / hr

solve :-

speed of bullet wrt ground = 300 + 60 = 360 km/ hr

velocity of bullet wrt car = 360- 180

= 180 km / hr

= 50 m / sec

if car moves opposite of jeep then

speed of bullet wrt car = 360 + 180

= 540 km / hr

= 150 m/sec
