First of all write a balance Rxn

2Mg +o2 →→2 Mgo

Now 2 moles of mg react with 1 mole of oxygen

32 gm oxygen react with 48 gm of mg

Apply unitary method

32 gm o2 …….reacts with 48 gm mg

1gm of o2 will react ……..48/32

So,0.56 gm o2 will react ……..48×0.56/32

=0.84 gm magnesium .

This is the amount of mg that have been consume or react with oxygen …..so ,left amount

1–0.84=0.16 gm

I Hope this will help u ...
