For many Indian tribes ,forest is home . As it provides them basic needs like water, shelter, food,  etc. Thus, we should preserve our forest for a better environment and for the people who completely depend on environment for their livelihood.

Pastoral tribes  move to the meadows of the Bugyals in the summertime. This cyclic movements of the tribe between seasons is a feature of many tribes of this region like the Bhotiyas, Sherpas etc.

3.  The reason for the statement -"Jhum cultivators cut down the tops of trees". is-

The Jhum cultivators cut the treetops inorder to allow sunlight to reach the ground, and then burn the vegetation on the land , so that it is cleared for cultivation. This is done in shifting cultivation.

The British needed timber for building ships ,throughout Britain it became practically exhausted  during their naval warfare. The British needed timber inorder to make ships because they had the biggest navy.
