Griffin as a scientist was genius with an irritable temper though. His brilliance came into limelight when he made a remarkable discovery by inventing the wondrous drug that enabled him to become invisible. Griffin was a short tempered scientist who sets fire to the house of his landlord in a fit of anger. I think he hadn't and had learnt to plan his life properly. I don't know if I make sense but this is what I think.
