Handles of cooking utensils are made of wood because wood is insulator of heat and so does not get heated whilecooking. If they will be made of iron then it will get heated and we will not be able to hold them. Plastic is used to make handles of cooking utensils because it is also insulator of heat.

Handles of cooking utensils are made of wood because wood is a bad conductor of heat and thus protects our hand from burning .
