Under heat and pressure,both igneous and sedimentary rocks transform into metamorphic rock. These metamorphic rocks get partially or wholly get changed in colour, texture,hardness and mineral composition from their igneous or sedimentary rock. This is how metamorphic rock are formed

Ex:

•granite is a igneous rock which changes into gneiss due to immense pressure

•sandstone is a sedimentary rock which changes to quartzite due to very high temperature
