1) The seagull was feeling very hungry thats why only he was able to overcome his fear.

2) His mother didn't come nearer to him with food because she wants that atleast for food the seagull should overcome his fear.

3) When the seagull dived at fish, he was very frightened and he was screaming. But the next moment he felt his wings spread outwards.

4) monstrous terror seized him
