1When a river reaches a lake or the sea the water slows down and loses the power to carry sediment. . The sediment is dropped at the mouth of the river. Some rivers drop so much sediment that waves and tides can't carry it all away. It builds up in layers forming a delta.

2When a glacier passes through the ice tunnels and deposits the sediments at a distance or in simple words when a glacier make its last moraine.

3Wind can carry small particles such as sand, silt, and clay. Wind erosion abrades surfaces and makes desert pavement, ventifacts, and desert varnish. Sand dunes are common wind deposits.
