Explanation:

In simple sentences, only a clause( with or without a phrase) and a finite verb is there.

An example can be "He wants to become a scientist".

The sentences with two or more independent clauses linked by a coordinating conjunction (e.g for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so) and have more than one finite verb are compound sentences.

An example can be "I went to the grocery store and bought some eggs".

Complex sentences are the sentences which consist of two or more clauses (one independent and the rest being dependent) which are linked by subordinate conjunctions such as although, that, because, which, as soon as, until etc.

Note: Dependent clauses can be noun, adjective or adverb clauses.

An example is "As soon as I reach the station, I will give you a call".

I am sorry if I am late, hope this helps others.
