I would respond with the lawyer's approach as i would give lushkoff a job  so that he can earn proplerly so that he can afford for proper food  but if i was kind and given him money he would still be a begger and wont have enough money for food. so i think sergei (the lawyer) did the right thing of giving him a job but sergei gave him a lushkoff a job he could not do. I would have given  lushkoff a job where he is able to do it properly and does not need anyone's help.
