1) n (S) = 6

a) P (2) = 1/6

b) P (2,4,6) = 3/6 = 1/2

c) P (<6) = 5/6

2) 5x + 5 - 3x - 11

= 5x - 3x + 5 - 11

= 2x - 6

3) 9√24:√27=√9²x24:√27

=√81x24:√27

=√1944:√27

=√72

=6√2

4) (3x - a ) ( x - 4 ) = 3x^ - 11 x

3x^ - 12x - ax + 4a = 3x^ - 11x

3x^ - ( 12 + a )x + 4a = 3x^ - 11x

12 + a = 11

a = -1

5. (2-p) x ^ + (3 + p) x - 8 = 0

One of its roots is 2, then;

(2-p) (2) ^ + (3 + p) (2) - 8 = 0

(2-p) (4) + 6 + 2p - 8 = 0

8 - 4p + 6 + 2p - 8 = 0

-4p + 2p = -8 - 6 + 8

-2p = -6

p = 3

Value of

5p - 3 = 15 - 3 = 12
