Any number which can written in the form of p/q ,where p & q are integers,and q is not equal to zero is a rational number.

According to this definition, we will justify whether 0 is a rational number or not.

Firstly, it is that it can be written in the form of p/q.

Yes, we can write 0 in the form p/q :

0 = 0/1, 0/2, 0/3, 0/4 and so on.

Secondly, p/q must be integers.

So, the answer is yes 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 all are integers.

Lastly, q is not equal to 0.

So, again the answer is yes. q is 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. but not 0.

Therefore, 0 is a rational number because it follows all the properties of a rational number.
