solution :

This question can be easily solved using unitary method. This question is solved using unitary method in the following way -

  • cost of 1kg of halwa = 400
  • therefore, cost of 1000 gm of halwa = 400

(as we know that 1 kg is equivalent to 1000 gm)

  • so 1 gm of halwa costs = 400/1000

now that we have the cost of 1gm of halwa, we can easily calculate the cost of 200 gm of halwa

  • 200 gm of halwa = (400/1000) x 200

                                      = 80

Thus, the cost of 200 gm of halwa is Rs 80.
