Length of a rectangle exceeds its breath by 4 meters. if the perimeter of the rectangle is 84 metres, find its length and breadth.

\huge{\bold{\underline{\underline{Solution:-}}}}

Let's assume that breadth of the Rectangle be = 'x'

and Length = 'x+4'

Perimeter of rectangle = 84cm

◈ Formula :-

\large{\purple{\boxed{\red{\underline{\green{Perimeter\:=\:2(L+B)}}}}}}

Substituting the values :-

=> 84 = 2(x+4+x)

=> 84 = 2(2x+4)

=> 84 = 4x+8

=> 84 - 8 = 4x

=> 76 = 4x

=> x = \frac{76}{4}

=> \large{\red{\underline{\purple{\boxed{\color{lime}{x\:=\:19}}}}}}

✯ Breadth :- x = 19cm

✯ Length :- x + 4 = 19 + 4 = 23cm

☯︎ Verification :-

Length = 23cm

Breadth = 19cm

Perimeter = 2(L+B)

= 2(23+19)

= 46+38

= 84cm
