Given : 1 litre substance of density 3 g/cc is mixed homogenously with 3 litre another substance of density 2g/cc.

To Find : the density of the mixture

[ 1 A) 2.15 B) 2.35 C) 2.25 D) 2.30

Solution:

Density = mass / volume

1 litre substance of density 3 g/cc

1 litre = 1000 cc

Hence   Mass =  3 * 1000  = 3 kg

3 litre another substance of density 2g/cc.

=> Mass = 3 * 2 * 1000 = 6 kg

Total Mass = 3 + 6 = 9 kg = 9000 g

Total Volume = 1 + 3 = 4 litre  =   4000 cc

Density of mixture = 9000/4000  = 2.25 g/cc

the density of the mixture is 2.25 g/cc

Given:

1 litre substance of density 3 g/cc is mixed homogenously with 3 litre another substance of density 2g/cc.

To find:

Density of mixture?

Calculation:

In order to calculate the density of mixture, simply find out the net mass and net volume as follows:

net \: mass =   \rho_{1}( V_{1})  +  \rho_{2}(V_{2})

 \implies net \: mass =  (3 \times 1000) + (2 \times 3000)

 \implies net \: mass =  9000 \: g

Now, net volume will be :

net \: volume = 1 + 3 = 4 \: litres = 4000 \: cc

Now, net density of mixture:

  \rho_{mixture} =  \dfrac{9000}{4000}  = 2.25 \: g/cc

So, density of mixture is 2.25 g/cc.
