The hormone that is responsible for the following functions,

(i) Growth of stem is Auxin.

(ii) One which promotes cell division in plants is Cytokinin.

(iii) The hormone responsible for wilting of leaves is Abscisic acid.  

(iv) The hormone which inhibits growth is Ethylene.  

Different types of hormones are applied to the plants to help them grow and reproduce at their required stages. An important aspect to be noted in the application of hormones to plants is that very limited quantity of the hormones is to be used.
