Your ans is almost right but -8 Goes to that side it will be in positive and by dividing it by 2 You will get ans 4

Your Equation ---> 2x - 3 - 5 = 5 - 5
2x - 3 - 5 = 5 - 5
-3 - 5 = -8
=> 2x - 8 = 0
Transposing -8 on RHS which makes it +8
=> 2x = 8
=> x = 4
