Let the number = x

thrice of the number =3x

nine added to it is = 9+3x

sum given = 45

according to the problem ,

9+3x=45

3x = 45-9

3x = 36

x = 36/3

x = 12

...... 9 added to thrice a whole number be 45

9 + 3x = 45

9+3 multiplied with 12 which means x be 45

9+36 =45

45=45

lhs =rhs

hence proved
