time taken by 1st pipe be x
time taken by 2nd pipe be y
given y=x-3hrs= x-180min.
if they together will fill it then they willdo half of their work.
x+y/2= 6h+40m=400min.
x+x-180/2=400min.
x-90=400
x=490min.
x=8hrs and 10min.
y= x-3hrs= 8hrs 10min.-3hrs.
y= 5hrs 10min.

time taken by both of them =6hr40min

average time takenby each =6hr40min*2

=400min *2=800min

3hr=180min

so time takenby by first person =800-90=710min=11hr50min

timen taken by second person =800+90min=890min=14hr50min

if helps pls mar it best
