The the advantages of polishing of pulses are:
1) They are more resistant to microbes
2) They look more attractive, shiny and durable ( lasting long)
3) Chaff and Polished pulsed both can be utilised for different purpose, like chaff is used an ingredient in south india
The disadvantages of polishing of pulses are:
1) The removed material has nutrients and minerals in the husk
2) Mineral removed consists trace elements which are necessary for proper development

The pulses which depend on rain and more excess water are susceptible to abiotic and biotic stresses. So improvement in technology is needed to prevent it from pests as well as environmental factors. Govt. should support time bound programs for the improvement in varieties of species of pulses that can face more adverse of these conditions. Also supporting farmers by means of minimum support price, by creating awareness about the need of pulses to be grown in India. Right now a lot of pulses is imported from outside.Also proper marketing and , infrastructure should be created.
