Given :

  • Radius of Cylinder is 12 cm .
  • Height of Cylinder is 9 cm .

To Find :

  • Curved Surface Area of Cylinder .
  • Total Surface Area of Cylinder .

Solution :

For Curved Surface Area :

Using Formula :

\longmapsto\tt\boxed{C.S.A\:of\:Cylinder=2\pi{rh}}

Putting Values :

\longmapsto\tt{2\times\dfrac{314}{100}\times{12}\times{9}}

\longmapsto\tt{\dfrac{67824}{100}}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{678.34\:{cm}^{2}}

So , The Curved Surface Area of Cylinder is 678.34 cm² .

Now ,

For Total Surface Area :

Using Formula :

\longmapsto\tt\boxed{T.S.A\:of\:Cylinder=2\pi{r(r+h)}}

Putting Values :

\longmapsto\tt{2\times\dfrac{314}{100}\times{12}\times{(12+9)}}

\longmapsto\tt{\dfrac{628\times{12}}{100}\times{21}}

\longmapsto\tt{\dfrac{158256}{100}}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{1582.56\:{cm}^{2}}

So , The Total Surface Area of Cylinder is 1582.56 cm² .

Answer:

Given :-

  • Radius of base of a cylinder is 12 cm and its height is 9 cm.

To Find :-

  • What is the curved surface area and total surface area.

Formula Used :-

To find C.S.A of a cylinder we know that,

\boxed{\bold{\small{Curved\: Surface\: Area\: =\: 2{\pi}rh}}}

To find T.S.A of a cylinder we know that,

\boxed{\bold{\small{Total\: Surface\: Area\: =\: 2{\pi}r(r + h)}}}

Solution :-

Given :

  • Radius = 12 cm
  • Height = 9 cm
  • Pie (π) = 3.14

First, we have to find the C.S.A of a cylinder,

C.S.A = 2 \times 3.14 \times 12 \times 9

C.S.A = 6.28 \times 108

C.S.A = 678.24 cm²

\therefore The curved surface area of a cylinder is 678.24 cm² .

Now, we have to find the T.S.A of a cylinder,

T.S.A = 2 \times 3.14 \times 12(12 + 9)

T.S.A = 2 \times 3.14 \times 12(21)

T.S.A = 6.28 \times 252

T.S.A = 1582.56 cm²

\therefore The total surface area of a cylinder is 1582.56 cm² .
