The introduction to the topic of air pollution is:

Air pollution is one of the major types of pollution and this is caused by the contamination of air due to the presence of substances in the atmosphere which are harmful to human health. These particles not only affect the health of humans but of all living things and can also cause damage to the climate and materials.

Some examples of these particles and gases are car emissions, dust, pollen, chemicals from factories and industries, etc. The major part of air pollution is ozone and when this causes pollution it can also be referred to as smog.

Not only does the air outside gets affected due to air pollution but we are not safe breathing the air when we are indoors also. A lack of ventilation and old air conditioners that are not maintained properly are some examples by which the air inside the houses is contaminated.

So whether air pollution occurs outside our houses or inside, it affects our health very badly and the immediate effects can be seen in diseases like asthma and the after-effects of air pollution can be cancer and death. So this is a very serious problem which requires to be attended to in a very urgent and efficient manner.
