1 By substitution method,

3x+4y=10 & 2x−2y=2⇒2(x−y)=2⇒x−y=1 ___ (2)

∴x=y+1→(1).

Substituting in equation (2).

∴3x+4y=10⇒3(y+1)+4y=10

⇒3y+3+4y=10⇒7y=7⇒y=1

∴x=1+1=2

∴x=2,y=1
