1. Sepals (Calyx) : Sepals are green and form the outermost whorl of flower.

2. Petals (Corolla) : Petlas lie next to sepals. They are usually brightly coloured to attract the insects of pollination. Sepals and petals form the non - essential parts of a flower.

3. Stamens (Androecium) : Stamens are mext to corolla. Each stamen is made up of stalk - like filament and flattened knob like anther. Anther bears pollen sacs. Pollen grains are produced in pollen sacs of anther. Stamens represent the male part of a flower.

4. Carple (Gynoecium) : Carpel is the female part of flower and forms the central part of a flower. Carpel shows basal swollen ovary, middle elongated style and upper knob - like part called stigma. Ovary bears ovules. Ovules are coverted into seed. The fruit encloses and protects the seeds.
