Let the first number be x

Let the first number be y

According to questions

x+y=68..............i

x-y=12..............ii

from equation (i)

we have,

x+y=68

x=68-y

substituting the value of x in equation (ii)

we have

x-y=12

68-y-y=12

-2y = 12-68

2y = 68 - 12

2y = 56

y = 28

substituting the value of y in equation (i)

we have

x + y = 68

x = 68 - y

x = 68 - 28

x = 40

Option (b)40 ,28 is correct answer

hope it helps!!!

make sure to brainlist it
