sec2A=11–2sin2A
Using the definition of tan,
sec2A=11–2tan2Acos2A
Using the definition of sec and pythagorean identities,

Then multiply through 1+tan2A1+tan2A,
sec2A=1+tan2A1+tan2A−2tan2A=1+tan2A1−tan2A
