The hypothetico-deductive system was developed by Christiaan Huygens. However, it was commonly used by C. Hull.

(Note: The answer of who developed the method is not given in the options however, C. Hull is the correct answer.

  • C. Hull termed the method he sued as hypothetico-deductive method because he used scientific methods and research conducted using hypotheses, which are tested using objective methods. C. Hull also used other methods such as the Drive theory.
  • In hypothetico-deductive method, we construct a scientific theory that will account for results obtained through direct observation and experimentation and that will, predict further effects that can be verified or disproved by empirical evidence. In other words, through the use of experimentation and simple deduction, we can under and predict the results of any scientific problem.
