find the length and breadth of the rectangle.
2) If a number is tripled and the result is increased by 5, we get 50. Find the number
3) If one side of a square is represented by 18X-20 and the adjacent side is represented by 42
-13X, find the length of the side of the square.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

1) let width be x

 and length be 3x

perimeter = 96 m

ATQ

  area = l*b

96 = 3x*x

3x²=96

x²=96/3

x²=32

x=5.6

therefore length = 3x = 3*5.6=16.8

               breadth = x = 5.6

2) let the number be x

ATQ

3x +5 = 50

x=50-5/3

x=45/3

x=15

therefore the number is 15

3) as we know all the side of a square is equal

then ,

ATQ

18x-20=42-13x

18x+13x=42+20

31x=62

x=62/31

x=2

therefore length of square = 18x-20

            =18*2-20

           =36-20

            =16

4)let  the boy be x and girl be 1/3x

ATQ

x+1/3x=60

4x/3=60

x=60*3/4

x=45

therefore boy =x=45

girl=1/3x=15
