1. The metre is defined as the distance travelled by light
in 299.792.458 second. Why didn't people choose some
easier number such as a second ? Why not 1
second?

The question here is not about easiness. We don't just randomly choose a number out of nowhere to be used in a formula for defining 1 metre just because it's easy.

Metre is defined as a distance travelled by light in 1/299,792,458 second. And if we alter this number even a bit then the distance will be not accurately equal to 1 metre. It will surely change some value and then it will be not 1 metre anymore. It will be any other distance randomly. And we want the distance 1 metre only so there's no point of considering "easiness" overall.

Cheers!
