Answer:

Let breadth be x

length=2x

perimeter=2(l+b)

=>40=2(2x+x)

=>40=2×3x

=>40=6x

=>x=40/6

=>x=6.66

l=2×6.66=13.32

b=x=6.66

Answer:

Length= 14 cm, Breadth= 6 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

Perimeter of the rectangle is 40 cm and the length of the rectangle is

more than double its breadth by 2.

To Find:-

The length and breadth of the Rectangle.

Formula Applied:-

Perimeter of rectangle=2(l+b) ,where l=length and b=breadth.

Solution:-

Let the Breadth of the rectangle be x.

Now, According to the given condition:-

l=2x+2

Perimeter of rectangle=2(l+b)

40=2(2x+2+x)

\frac{40}{2}=3x+2

20=3x+2

3x=20-2

3x=18

x=\frac{18}{3}

x=6 cm.

l=2x+2

l=2(6)+2

l=12+2

l=14 cm.

∴ The values of length and breadth of the rectangle are 14 cm and 6 cm Respectively.
