1 -The perimeter of rectangle is 130 cm . if the breadth of the rectangle is 30 cm , find its length . also find the area of rectangle .

2-a door of length 2 m and breadth 1 m is fitted in a wall. the length of the waall is 4.5 m and the breadth is 3.6 m . find the costt of whit washing the wall, if the rate of white washing the wall is rupees 20 per m .

1). Perimeter of rectangle=130cm 2(l+b)=130cm 2(l+30)=130cm<b 2l=130-60cm 2l=70 l=35cm.

area = length × breadth

= 130×35

= 4450

2). area of a rectangle = l * b

area of door = 2m * 1m = 2m2

area of wall with door = 4.5m * 3.6m =16.2m2

area of wall=16.2 - 2 = 14.2m2

rate of white washing the wall = Rs. 20/m2

14.2 * 20 =Rs. 284

the cost of white washing the wall is Rs. 284
